The Menu at Koi Restaurant in Planet Hollywood

Starters

As the name suggests, the starters are the ideal place to begin your meal at Koi. The kitchen prepares classic, crowd-pleasing Japanese appetizers like Edamame, Miso Soup, and Roasted Shishito Peppers.

They also offer various salads, including a pickled cucumber option, Seaweed Salad, and Organic Field Greens Salad. My favorite starter is the Glazed Green Beans with sweet soy.

Shared Plates

Many people prefer sharing Japanese cuisine with the table, and Koi’s Shared Plates give you plenty of good reasons to do exactly that.

The main attraction in this part of the menu is the Koi Crispy Rice. It is topped with spicy tuna and has the perfect blend of textures and flavors. I also recommend the Kobe Style Potstickers and the Salmon Carpaccio with black truffles and ponzu.

Or, for a taste of California, try the Lobster Tacos with sweet mango salsa and yuzu guacamole.

Entrees

From chicken to beef to fish, Koi’s entrees have a delectable dish for every preference.

Steak lovers will want to check out the house specialty, Peppercorn Filet Tobanyaki. The tender, juicy Kobe beef comes with a zesty shishito mash and a rich plum wine sauce. They also have an exceptional Queensland Wagyu Sirloin.

If you are in the mood for seafood, the Miso Bronzed Black Cod with fresh seasonal veggies makes an excellent choice. You can’t go wrong with the Sauteed Tiger Prawns cooked with sake and sweet sriracha either.

Other options include Spicy Chicken Karaage, Ginger Steamed Sea Bass, and flaky Ginger Salmon.

Signature Rolls

When it comes to ordering sushi at Koi, make sure to include one or more of the options from the Signature Rolls portion of the menu.

Not only do they highlight the chef’s culinary excellence, but they also combine ingredients in a unique and inspired way to ensure mouthwatering flavor in every piece.

My favorite is the Sunfire Roll with snow crab, lobster, cucumber, cilantro, mango, avocado, and ichimi. I love the way it blends Japanese and Californian tastes for the ultimate freshness with a bit of a spicy kick.

The Sin City Roll, which is rolled with spicy scallop and avocado and topped with perfectly seared togarashi tuna and habanero caviar, is also extremely popular.

Sushi & Sashimi

Koi’s Sushi & Sashimi offerings encompass all the classics and more. From Tuna to Snow Crab to Salmon, you’ll have plenty of fresh options to build your meal.

The Toro, or tuna belly, is a house favorite. The meat is marbled, like a premium steak, and has lots of flavor. The Fresh Water Eel and the Albacore also make excellent choices.

Hand & Cut Rolls

All your favorite authentic sushi rolls are found in the Hand & Cut Rolls section of the menu.

With a California Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Vegetable Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and more, you are sure to find something you know and love.

Depending on how you like it, each option can be ordered as a hand roll or cut into sushi pieces.

Dessert

With all of the delicious cuisine on Koi’s menu, it may be hard to save room for dessert, but I strongly recommend trying.

While they have several sweet treats, including unique ice cream and sorbet flavors, Chocolate-Vanilla Creme Brulee, and Flourless Molten Chocolate Cake, the Koi Signature White Chocolate Cheesecake is the showstopper. It has an almond crust, vanilla chantilly, and seasonal berries on top.

Cocktails

Koi’s bar mixes up fresh handcrafted cocktails with bright citrus and fruit flavors. For a classic Japanese libation, try the Lychee Martini. They also serve an array of champagnes, wines, sakes, and beers.

Whether you choose to imbibe in the stunning lounge, at the bar, or while enjoying a meal in the dining room, Koi’s mixologists have what it takes to turn up the party.
