A Mexican-American Menu

You’ll find all your south-of-the-border classics here at Carlos ‘N Charlie’s Mexican Restaurant. The restaurant doesn’t shy away from American food either, making it the perfect choice when you can’t decide which type of food you want till you get there. Below is a look at the different sections of the menu and what you can expect.

Appetizers

You’ll see all the Mexican food favorites that you know and love, such as Chips and Salsa, Taquitos and Guacamole, Queso Dip, Grilled Street Corn Quesadillas, and Nachos. The quesadillas give you an option between cheese, chicken, carne asada, shrimp, and portobello mushrooms.

If you really want to go all out, try out the Supermix Platter that comes with nachos, wings, BBQ ribs, quesadillas, taquitos, and some sides. You’ll pay a little extra for it but the table will get to try the best of the best for appetizers. Prices range pretty wildly in this section depending on what you get but expect to pay anywhere from $7.70 to $37.80.

Soups and Salads

While most of the options in this section are focused on the Mexican flavors this restaurant is famous for, you’ll find a couple of American classics anyone can enjoy. The tortilla soup has a rich tomato broth and is available by a cup or bowl. The Tomato Basil Soup has the same options but is lighter than the tortilla.

For salads, you have your choice between the Caesar, Chicken Fajita, or Taco. The Taco is the better choice of the three and comes with an array of fresh ingredients that make you feel like you got a full meal. Add on some Chicken or carne asada and you won’t need to go any further in the menu.

Mexican Platters & Burrito Bowls

The usual delicious suspects fill up the Mexican Platter section. Sizzling fajitas that are still cooking when they are delivered come with a choice of chicken, steak, mixed, shrimp, or vegan. You’ll also have a choice between enchiladas and chimichangas.

The surprise option is Charlie’s Burrito which is stuffed full of chicken, carne asada, chorizo, pico de gallo, and cheese. You don’t have to fill up on bread though as the bowl section gives you plenty of Mexican rice to accompany your protein. Choices include carnitas, chorizo, chicken, beef, and a vegan option.

Tacos and Burgers

The tacos served at Carlos ‘N Charlie’s are street-sized so you get three of them with each order. You also get your choice between corn or flour. Most of the options are tacos you’ve seen before like carne asada, chicken, chorizo, carnitas, and fish or shrimp. However, there are a couple of choices that may surprise you. The Portobello Mushroom Tacos are perfect for vegetarians and Charlie’s choice mixes several proteins together including carne asada, chorizo, and chicken.

Having some burgers on the menu is a way to appeal to any hunger-craving patron that walks in. It’s perfect for that one person at your party who just doesn’t feel like Mexican food. Options here are pretty typical like the Bacon Cheeseburger, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and Old Fashioned Cheese Burger. You can mix both worlds together though and get the Mexican Guacamole Burger.

Specialties

This is another area where you’ll see some Mexican influence but it’s mostly just delicious food. The Mahi Mahi and Parmesan Swiss Chicken are high-quality but the Pollo Mole is more authentic to the Mexican theme. There’s also a T-Bone and BBQ Chipotle Ribs.

Desserts

A large selection of six different desserts is waiting for those who make room. The Chocolate Cake, Cheesecake, Awesome Brownie, and Key Lime Pie are all standards of any menu but the Fried Ice Cream and Chimi Banana are well worth trying for something different.

Drinks

Frozen drinks are the name of the game here and you’ll have choices between margaritas, mojitos, daiquiris, and spicy versions of the above. There are plenty of tequila shots and you can turn any beer into a michelada for a little extra. You’ll also have a good amount of fruity cocktails to choose from as well as a handful of wines.
