A Blend of Chinese and Mexican Cuisine

Unlike other fusion restaurants, Mexican and Chinese cuisine elements exist side by side at China Poblano.

As a result, you can enjoy anything from guacamole, tacos, and ceviche to Chinese noodles, dim sum, and Fried Rice.

The following sections explore the menu in detail and highlight the most popular dishes.

The Menu at China Poblano Restaurant in the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

First Bites

I strongly recommend starting any meal at China Poblano with their fresh-made Guacamole.

Considered a house specialty, it is prepared tableside, served with either tortilla chips or warm tortillas, and packed with lots of bright flavors.

Other First Bites include traditional Mexican favorites like Chilaquiles, Huevos Rancheros, Queso Fundido, and more. You’ll also find a tasty Chinese street sandwich in this portion of the menu.

Salads and Ceviches

China Poblano’s various ceviche selections are highly regarded for using the finest, freshest ingredients to create remarkable textures and flavors.

The Tuna Ceviche, another house specialty, is prepared with sushi-grade ahi tuna, a soy-lime dressing, and both spicy and crunchy ingredients for an unexpected, modern taste.

The salads at China Poblano are perfect for a light lunch or dinner. From the La Leng Mian cold noodle salad to the Sandia La Patria with watermelon and honey-sherry dressing, you won’t be disappointed.

Soups

The soup selections at China Poblano are packed with savory flavors and rich textures.

I recommend their wonton soup, called Swallow a Cloud. It contains fluffy house-made wontons stuffed with shrimp and pork and a couple of light vegetables, which perfectly complement the filling noodles.

They also offer Pozole Rojo and a traditional chicken soup with rice, an array of veggies, and a smoky chile-spiked broth.

Dim Sum

The Dim Sum options at China Poblano also make excellent appetizer choices.

With several siu mai creations, steamed and fried bun dishes, Fried Wontons, and more, these plates showcase the chef’s Chinese culinary excellence.

While the Siu Mai dumpling plates are the most popular, both bun options with Chinese BBQ pork also make outstanding choices.

Tacos

Tacos are a staple of traditional Mexican cuisine, and at China Poblano, they take them to the next level. To start, the tortillas used are hand-made in-house and made from Oaxacan heirloom corn for authentic flavor.

In addition, they come with one per order, so you can easily add one to your meal or build a plate with several. The Carnitas tacos are saucy, spicy, and a fan favorite.

However, for something more unique, try the Viva China with crispy beef tendon, raw oyster, and Szechuan-soy sauce.

Vegetables

China Poblano’s vegetable dishes are great for vegetarians and vegans but also make an excellent shareable addition to the table.

One of their most popular dishes, Twenty Vegetable Fried Rice, also makes a fantastic main course.

It has more veggies than you can imagine and allows you to add protein or XO sauce based on your preference.

Meat & Seafood

The meat and seafood entrees at China Poblano include modern renditions of Chinese and Mexican cuisine.

While each of these plates is noteworthy in its own way, I recommend the Ji Song.

It consists of five sweet gem lettuce cups filled with Kung Pao Chicken, crispy sweet potato, and spicy arbol; yum!

The Camarones al Mojo de Ajo Negro is another top recommendation. The shrimp are sauteed to perfection, and its blend of spice paired with sweet aged black garlic make it a crowd favorite.

Lastly, if you love a good steak, the Carne Asada Norteña is a must-try.

Noodles

Everyone loves noodles, and China Poblano’s fresh selection reaffirms why.

The Dan Dan Mian is an outstanding display of Chef José Andrés’s creative talents. With hand-cut wheat noodles, an array of veggies, crispy sweet potato, and a rich ground pork sauce, it makes a stellar choice.

The Kao Lao Lao is another house specialty highlighting the chef’s artistic talents. It is made with classic hand-rolled oat noodles formed into a honeycomb shape and served with a delectable tiger dipping sauce.

Chef’s Experience

If you want to try the best China Poblano offers without making many decisions, the Chef’s Experience tasting menu is the perfect solution.

It showcases a collection of their signature dishes, giving you a tour of traditional and modern flavors from Mexico and China.

They also have a Vegetable Experience tasting menu if you prefer a plant-based meal.

Sweet Treats

The sweet treats at China Poblano feature a delicious blend of fruity and sweet flavors like coconut, lime, ginger, and cinnamon.

Their most popular dessert, Mango Sticky Rice, puts a modern spin on the classic dish and should not be missed.

Other sweet treats include Churros, Tres Leches, a delectable chocolate mousse creation, Ice Cream, and Sorbet.

Drinks

Blossom’s full bar offers a collection of elevated specialty cocktails, margaritas, wine, bottled beer, and an extensive list of tequilas featuring curated tasting flights.

The Salt Air Margarita, a Chef José Andrés creation, is their house specialty cocktail. It is made with fresh ingredients and gives you the option to add pomegranate, which I recommend.

If you like refreshing drinks, the Mexican Mimosa also makes an excellent choice.
